Washington University in St. Louis junior back Katy Mockett and junior midfielder Kristen Reikersdorfer were named to the 2019 NCAA Division III Academic All-America Women's Soccer Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Mockett earned second-team honors while Reikersdorfer was a third-team honoree.

Mockett is the second player in the 31-year history of the women's soccer program to earn multiple Academic All-America honors (Kate Doyle; 2012, 2013) after picking up third team honors a year ago, while Reikersdorfer becomes the ninth player in school history to earn the honor.

KATY MOCKETT
Mockett, a First-Team All-Central Region and Second-Team All-UAA performer, started all 22 games on the back line for WashU in 2019. She was part of the defense that allowed just nine goals and recorded 13 shutouts.

As a team, WashU ranked ninth in NCAA Division III in goals against average (0.405) and 33rd in shutout percentage (0.591).

A two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-UAA selection, Mockett has a 3.98 grade point average while majoring in systems engineering.

"Katy epitomizes commitment to growth both in the classroom and on the field," said WashU head coach Jim Conlon. "Her determination and positive attitude inspires all of us every day. She truly is a scholar champion."

KRISTEN REIKERSDORFER
Reikersdorfer started 20 of 22 games in the midfield and was fifth on the team in scoring with three goals and four assists for 10 points.

She scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win vs. Fontbonne (Sept. 20) and had two assists in the 3-0 win at Calvin (Aug. 30). Reikersdorfer also delivered the game-winning assist in a 2-1 OT win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the NCAA Sectional Semifinal (Nov. 23).

A two-time Academic all-UAA selection, Reikersdorfer has a 4.0 GPA while majoring in neuroscience.

"Kristen has made excellence a habit. The motivation and dedication that she exudes is like no other," Conlon said. "She not only works to better herself, but also the people surrounding her on the field and in the classroom."

To be eligible for nomination to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, and must be a starter or an important reserve.

WashU finished the 2019 season with an 18-1-3 record, and advanced to the Elite 8 for the 11th time in school history. The Bears also won their fifth-straight UAA title.
