CWRU Wraps Up Competition at Midwest Invitational

A small squad of Case Western Reserve University swimmers finished competition on Saturday at the two-day Midwest Invitational, hosted by the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.

The Spartan women totaled 241 points to help the team finish fourth.

Two NCAA 'B' cut time were set on Saturday by the women, as the 200-yard freestyle relay team of junior Caitlyn VonFeldt, sophomore Daniella Rupert, sophomore Sarah Krueger and first-year Maria Pritchett finished first in the event with a 'B' cut time of 1:35.63. VonFeldt and Krueger also teamed with sophomore Kelly Moton and sophomore Anna Smith in the 400-yard medley relay to finish first in the event with a 'B' cut time of 3:51.04.

Senior Elizabeth Ye and Rupert combined to total three top finishes in their respective events during the invite. Ye finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.95) and fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.65), while Rupert placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (52.90).
