The University of Chicago women's track & field team added another All-American honor to its haul at the second day of the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships on Friday.

Fifth-year senior Laura Darcey was the first Maroon in action during the morning session. In the women's high jump, Darcey cleared the bar at 1.67 meters. That height secured eighth place in the standings. For Darcey, it was the seventh All-American award of her career – five of those trophies have come in the high jump event.

One of the final events of the day was the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Senior Zoe Smith made her NCAA track debut in the race and crossed the line in a time of 11:13.97. She placed ninth overall and only 0.73 seconds out of eighth in a neck-and-neck finish.

UChicago concludes the three-day meet on Saturday with the shot put (Molly Laumakis), triple jump (Isabel Maletich), and 5,000 meters (Lucy Groothuis).
