Susanna Henry Leads CWRU at Kent State Tune Up

Sophomore Susanna Henry highlighted the Spartan performances on Saturday as the Case Western Reserve University women's track and field team finished competition at the Kent State Tune Up in Kent, Ohio.

Henry led the Spartans on Saturday, as she placed first in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:02.58. Junior Grace Kemerer finished third in the event with a time of 19:10.47, while junior Olivia Battistoni placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:12.38.

First year-Mia Vargo tied for eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.55 meters, while first-year Melissa Phung earned an eighth place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.07. Senior Abbey Waltz added a 10th-place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 3.27 meters.

The Spartans were also in action on Friday, with a group of throwers competing at the Rick Meindl Last Call Meet hosted by Capital University in Bexley, Ohio.

Junior Taylor Jackson earned a second-place finish in the weight throw (14.94m) and a fifth-place finish in the shot put (11.52m). Sophomore Eleanor Gaddy added a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 11.20 meters, and also claimed a seventh-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 13.53 meters.
