UChicago Takes North Central Invitational Title

The University of Chicago women's track and field team maintained its run of success with high placements at North Central College's Pat Heenan Invitational on Friday.

The Maroon women were first of seven teams with 179.5 points.

Six event titles went to the Maroons. Sophomore Isabel Maletich improved on her NCAA Division III-leading mark in the long jump with a leap of 5.88 meters. In the 5,000 meters, senior Maggie Boudreau submitted a top 10 time in the nation at 17:22.68. Senior Isabel Garon reached 3.70 meters to win the pole vault. Sophomore Kaitlyn Van Baalen was first in the one mile at 5:02.26. In the 800 meters, first-year Maya Ordonez crossed first in 2:21.38. The 4x400-meter relay team of Aleeza Hassan, Isabel Layne, Laura Darcey and Mary Martin also won in 3:59.93.
