From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics

Senior middle blocker Erika Foose (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and senior libero Kayla Yew (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team were named Third Team All-America by the American Vol-leyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Joining the pair is senior setter Maia So-Holloway (Oak-land, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) as an All-America Honorable Mention honorees from the AVCA.

This marks the fourth consecutive season that multiple Tartans have received the accolade in the same year and the second time in program history that two Tartans have been named to one of the top three All-America teams in the same season.

Foose, an honorable mention All-American a year ago, was named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) second team and led the team and ranked third in the UAA with a .365 hit-ting percentage. The senior also was tops on the team with 243 kills, 2.25 kills per set, 80 block assists, and 93 total blocks. She recorded double-digit kills in 11 matches this season including a season-best 15 at Brandeis.

Yew, also an honorable mention All-American a year ago, was a first team All-UAA honoree this season and led the UAA with 606 digs and 5.56 digs per game. Her 32 service aces ranked fourth on the team. She ended her career ranked second on the school's all-time digs list with 2,324. The senior also recorded double-digit digs in 29 of 30 matches played this season, includ-ing a season-high 36 against SUNY-Geneseo.

So-Holloway, a second team All-American a year ago, led the team and ranked fifth in the UAA with 640 assists after the Tartans changed to a 6-2 offense this season. Her 40 service aces ranked second on the Tartans and fifth best in the Association. The senior recorded a season-best 36 assists against SUNY-Geneseo and tabbed a season-high five service aces against Case Western Reserve.
