Annika Urban of Emory Named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Emory University senior Annika Urban was named the USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country National Athlete of the Week presented by M-F Athletics on Monday, October 3.

Urban continued to be a dominant force for the Eagles this past weekend, winning her third consecutive individual title against a talented field in the Women's College Brown 6k at the Paul Short Run Friday afternoon in Bethlehem, PA. Urban was the race winner by nearly 25 seconds at 20:22.9, the first time ever in her career she posted a time under the 21 minute mark. Her time shattered the program's 6k record by 37 seconds.

Urban becomes the first female in program history to earn the National Athlete of the Week honor during the cross country season and is just the second athlete in team history to garner the acclaim after teammate Spencer Moore won on the men's side earlier this season on September 12.
