AURORA, Ill. - The Simpson volleyball team split play on the first day of the Aurora Invitational, beating Benedictine 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-17) before falling to Chicago 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-12).
Tabitha Blaser and Jaqueline Luth had 12 and 11 kills, respectively as the Storm (4-5) swept Benedictine. Sara Hoppenworth and Maura Chadwick had 16 assists apiece and Olivia Sultentic finished with 30 digs and four service aces.
Simpson had a tough time against 15th-ranked Chicago, falling in straight sets. Blaser tallied four kills and Sulentic had 15 digs.

Simpson plays host Aurora and Wheaton on Saturday.
