The Emory University women's basketball team continued their impressive season on Friday night defeating the No. 25 ranked WashU Bears in St. Louis, Missouri.

The No. 6 ranked Eagles improve to 12-1 on the season and hold a 12-game win streak. It was a night for career-highs with junior Morgan Laudick leading the way for the Eagles with a career-high 22 points and was just one rebound away from a double-double. Laudick shot 50 percent from the field and went 4-4 at the line. Graduate student Claire Brock followed Laudick with 18 points of her own going 4-8 from beyond the arc and 7-18 from the field. Sophomore Lily Kennedy showed out with a career-high 12 points in the win going 3-4 in threes and 4-8 in field goals made. Rounding out the Eagles was junior Daniella Aronsky who totaled 10 assists on the night.

The first quarter started with a quick 6-2 Emory lead thanks to back to back jumpers from juniors Erin Martin and Laudick with 7:26 on the clock. After going up 10-7, the Bears looked for a comeback of their own tightening the score to 10-9 before taking a 13-10 lead with just under five minutes in the quarter. Five points from Kennedy gave the Eagles the lead again with fellow sophomore Chloe Kreusser giving Emory a 19-13 lead. Another jumper from Laudick helped the Eagles to a 26-20 lead heading into the second quarter.

Early in the second quarter, the Eagles took a 10-point 32-22 advantage over WashU on a jumper from Martin before Kennedy's second three of the day put Emory up 35-24. Kreusser gave the Eagles their 40th point of the game with 4:52 left on the clock before going scoreless until 2:07 was left in the quarter. A late jumper from Martin brought the game to a 45-37 Emory advantage heading into the locker room.

The Eagles got off to a quick start in the third quarter taking a 54-39 lead from back to back layups from Laudick and sophomore Katherine Martini with just over six minutes on the clock. Freshman Alexandra Loucopoulos entered the game with a layup giving Emory a 61-47 lead with 3:03 remaining in the quarter before late free throws from the Bears made it a 61-49 game entering the fourth quarter.

The Bears were able to close the gap early in the fourth quarter bringing the score to 64-59 with 7:21 on the clock before later holding Emory to a 71-65 advantage with under five minutes remaining. WashU then went on a 8-5 run in the last four minutes but the Eagles were able to hold on and continue their win streak.
