Carnegie Mellon University Interim Director of Athletics Josh Centor has announced that head men's soccer coach Arron Lujan is stepping down after six years at the helm of the Tartans, effective March 5, 2014. Lujan has accepted a position with the United States Soccer Federation.

Junior Mohamed Sidique has competed in seven of 35 meets since 2001. He was also named a team captain – as a sophomore. Sidique is a Community Advisor who admits he has trouble saying no to campus organizations who ask for his time to represent a worthy cause.

Rochester Establishes the Brian F. Prince Athletic Complex
The University of Rochester's outdoor athletic facilities, including Fauver Stadium, will undergo a significant renovation and expansion over the next several years. A lead gift from alumnus Brian F. Prince made in honor of his parents, Richard J. and Christine L. Prince, supports the multi-million-dollar project and establishes the Brian F. Prince Athletic Complex.

John Schael to Retire After 36 Years as Washington U. Athletic Director
After 36 years of leading the Washington University in St. Louis Department of Athletics, John Schael announced he would be retiring at the conclusion of the 2013-14 school year. Schael’s final day as Director of Athletics will be June 30, 2014.

UAA Men's Soccer Most Valuable Player Alex Swanger Named NSCAA All-American
Junior forward Alex Swanger of the University of Rochester men's soccer team has done it all in 2013. He was named UAA Most Valuable Player, 1st Team All-UAA, 1st Team All-East region, Academic All-American and now as the final piece to the puzzle, he was named a 3rd Team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

NYU Adding Varsity Baseball and Softball
New York University will be adding its 22nd and 23rd varsity sports beginning in the fall of 2014. Following the merger of NYU and NYU-Poly, both men's baseball and women's softball will compete as varsity sports on the NCAA Division III level.

Amy Sullivan's specialty on the Washington University in St. Louis volleyball team was service aces. Carnegie Mellon University's Matt Loebbaka Named to the Division III NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
Carnegie Mellon University junior men's basketball player Matt Loebbaka was chosen as a member of the Division III NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee earlier this month. Loebbaka will be one of 24 national representatives to serve on the committee when his term begins in January.

Case Western Reserve head coach Matt Englander tells his baseball players that the harder the challenge, the more meaningful the win. Two years ago his hands went so numb he couldn't even open a door handle and brain scans showed he had a tumor in the parietal lobe, just above his right ear.

Univeristy of Chicago alumnus Sam Kass is featured in Wednesday's installment of NCAA.org's Division III 40-in-40 series. Kass is a 2004 graduate who played in the outfield for the Maroons baseball team from 2001-03.

The Emory University Women's Tennis team defeated Carnegie Mellon University 9-0 on Saturday morning to claim the team's 24th University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship in 26 years of conference competition. Emory, seeded first in the tournament and ranked third in Division III, concluded a dominating weekend of competition, shutting out its opponents in all three matches.
