Junior catcher Nolan Schultz and senior 3rd baseman Brian Munoz were named 1st Team All-New York Region selections by D3baseball.com on Monday.
 
The All-Region award is Schultz's second in as many seasons while Munoz earns his first all-region selection.
 
Schultz, the junior catcher from Valrico, Florida enjoyed a fabulous season for the Yellowjackets, being named 1st team All-Liberty League and 2nd Team All-UAA.  He played in 41 games, including 40 starts for Rochester, hit .319 at the plate (46-144) with 29 runs, 6 doubles, 6 triples, 7 home runs and 35 RBIs.  He led the Yellowjackets in triples, total bases (85), sac flies (4) and slugging percentage (.590).  After drawing 15 walks and 9 HBP, Schultz finished with a .407 on base percentage.  Clearly one of the top defensive catchers in the country, the junior threw out 18 runners attempting to steal, matching his own record at Rochester, while also setting a new team record allowing only 43.8% potential base stealers to be successful.  Schultz was a 2nd Team All-New York Region as a sophomore in 2014.
 
Munoz, hailing from Round Rock, Texas, capped his Rochester career with a fantastic 2015, hitting .340 (50-147) with 32 runs, 11 doubles, 5 triples, 3 home runs and 26 RBI for the Yellowjackets.  He was the team leader in on base percentage (.450), hits, walks (21) and HBP (10).  Chipped in a .544 slugging percentage, was 5-for-7 on steal attempts and was strong defensively handling 96 assists, 47 putouts and was a part of 17 double plays.  Reached base in all but three contests in 2015, starting off the year with a 33-game streak of reaching safely, adding a team high 12-game hitting streak.  Munoz was a 1st team selection on both the All-Liberty League and All-UAA teams, his first honor from both conferences.
 
Overall since 2012 when D3Baseball.com began selection of All-Region teams, UR has had six total selections.  Jon Menke was 2nd team in 2012, Josh Ludwig was 3rd team in 2013.  Last season Schultz was 2nd team and teammate Evan Janifer was 1st team and this year Munoz and Schultz both were 1st team choices.
