Slivka, a Finance & Strategy major with a minor in Sport Management carrying a 3.746 grade-point average, is enjoying a tremendous senior season. Monk ranks first in program history in career saves (29), games finished (55), saves in a single season (11, twice), second in most appearances (68), eighth in earned-run average (2.42) and 12th in both opponent batting average against (.232) and strikeouts looking (25). His 29 career saves leads all active NCAA Division III players and ranks sixth all-time in Division III history. This season, Monk has tied his single season saves record with 11 to go along with a 3-3 record and 32 punch outs in 37 innings pitched, spanning 23 appearances. He was also the recipient of the Clyde Partin, Sr. Award at the annual Emory Athletics awards banquet. The Partin Award is presented for outstanding career or season performance in a team-based sport by a male and female varsity athlete.

Both players will now be placed on the ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Teams. The Academic All-America teams for Division III will be announced on Tuesday, May 24th.

The Eagles finished the regular season with a 30-10 overall record and currently rank 4th in the Collegiate Baseball Magazine and 6th in the NCBWA/D3Baseball.com top-25 national polls released earlier this week.
