Brad Margolin Dominant in Shutout Victory Over MacMurray

From Washington University Athletics

Junior Brad Margolin tossed the first complete-game shutout of his career to lead the Washington University in St. Louis baseball team to a 6-0 win over MacMurray College Friday in non-conference action at Kelly Field.

Margolin (5-1) allowed eight hits and struck out four and did not walk a batter. The complete game was his third of the season.

WashU improved to 23-13 with the win, while MacMurray fell to 18-16. The Bears also improved to 13-2 this season at home.

The game was scoreless after two innings, but WashU scored four runs with two outs in the third to jump in front 4-0. The Bears recorded three singles in a row with two outs to load the bases, and then junior Ben Browdy laced a triple to right to clear the bases. Browdy upped his NCAA Division III best RBI total to 58.

The Bears were not done yet in the third as sophomore Conor O'Hara ripped a single to left center to drive in Browdy to make it 4-0. Junior Austin Darmawan drove in his 26th run of the year in the fourth with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 5-0.

Senior Kyle Kozak added an RBI single to left in the eighth to round out the scoring.

Browdy was 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs, while junior Christian Santos was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
