Ben Browdy of Washington University Named Preseason All-American

Senior Ben Browdy of the Washington University in St. Louis baseball team has been selected as a 2017 Preseason All-American, as announced by D3baseball.com.

Last season, Browdy was named a third team All-American by D3baseball.com after leading WashU in multiple offensive categories. The Deerfield, Ill.-native started all 51 games while batting .352 with 18 doubles, three triples, five home runs and setting a new school record with 79 runs batted in.

As a second baseman, Browdy was the first infielder in school history to be selected as an All-American. In addition, he shared the 2016 University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Year honor with his WashU double-play partner Austin Darmawan. 

The Bears open the season ranked No. 12 in the Collegiate Baseball Division III Preseason Poll and will open the year in Birmingham, Ala. on Saturday, Feb. 25 against North Park and then No. 5 Birmingham Southern.
