Anderson becomes the seventh player overall and the first catcher in program history to be named an All-American, joining teammate Tyler Horvath (2022) and former Spartans Rocco Maue (2018), Andrew Gronski (2014), Andrew Frey (2014), Jarrett Gish (2013) and Chad Mullins (2011).

Anderson is coming off a record-setting campaign for the Spartans in 2023, following which he was named the University Athletic Association Position Player of the Year and to the All-UAA First Team, in addition to claiming a spot on the All-Region First Team. He set program records during the campaign with 89 hits (which currently ranks first among all Division III players at the end of the Super Regional round of the NCAA Championship) and 25 doubles (second among DIII players). He finished the season hitting .468, the 11^th-best mark in Division III, and led all CWRU players with 56 runs, five triples, 45 runs batted in, 15 stolen bases, and a .523 on-base percentage. Anderson connected for three home runs during the year and slugged a team-high .700. He was a two-time D3baseball.com Team of the Week honoree, a three-time UAA Athlete of the Week, and was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Marietta Regional.

This is the 16^th season in which D3baseball.com has produced an All-America team. It is drawn from the list of over 1,000 nominations for All-Region honors. The D3baseball.com All-America team is chosen by the D3baseball.com staff.

The Spartans ended the 2023 campaign with a 28-15 overall record. CWRU reached the NCAA Division III Championships for the sixth time in program history during the season.
