CWRU Baseball Receives NCAA Tournament Bid; Will Head to Marietta for Regionals

The Case Western Reserve University baseball team was named to the field for the 2023 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship and will head to Marietta, Ohio for the regional round of the tournament this weekend.

The Spartans' opening game of the tournament will be against Mary Washington (28-14) on Friday, May 19. On the other side of the draw host and 12th-ranked Marietta (34-11) will take on Adrian (25-19).

CWRU earned an at large bid into the tournament after finishing the season with a 27-13 overall record, including wins in 16 of their final 18 games. The Spartans will be making the sixth NCAA Regional appearance in program history and their first since the 2019 season.

The four-team regional will be a double-elimination tournament. Teams advancing from each of the 16 regionals across Division III this weekend will move to the best-of-three Super Regional round for the right to play at the NCAA Division III World Series.
