Men's Soccer Completes #TeamNYUGlobal Spain Trip

From NYU Athletics

The New York University men's soccer team recently returned from a 10-day excursion throughout Spain. The trip, which lasted from May 24 - June 3, was part of the Team NYU Global initiative.

Team NYU Global was created so that members of NYU's varsity teams visit NYU Global cities and create partnerships with schools and municipalities across the world as they provide local youth with instructional sport clinics, and volunteer at organizations whose missions are to provide services to children in need. They collaborate across continents with NYU students already studying in those cities. The men's soccer team was the ninth NYU team to go abroad since the initiative began in the summer of 2012.

The Violets began their trip with five days in Madrid, where they toured the city and competed twice against a pair of local club teams. In addition, the squad spent an afternoon playing games with new friends from the Tambien Foundation, which is a non-profit organization whose aim is the social integration of people with any physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory disability.

From Madrid, the team hit the road and spent two days in both Cordoba and Grenada, where they competed one last time, before returning to the United States.
