Emory University senior Jake Davis (Cincinnati, OH)
has been recognized by D3hoops.com for his outstanding play during
the 2013-14 campaign, earning a second-team berth on its
All-America Team.
The 6-foot-5 Davis established school season records in points (609
pts.), scoring average (22.6 ppg) and free throws (168) in helping
the Eagles to an overall record of 19-9 that included the program's
first-ever appearance in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division III
Tournament. Davis led the University Athletic Association in
scoring in both overall and league (22.5 ppg) contests and paced
the Emory scoring effort in a total of 16 games. A three-time
honoree to the All-UAA First Team during his storied career, Davis
was selected as the league's player of the week on three occasions
this past year, and was chosen as the D-III Player of the Month for
February by DIII News.
Career-wise, Davis finished No. 2 on the school's all-time lists in
scoring (1,870 pts.), scoring average (18.3 ppg), field goals (671)
and free throws (409). During his stint as an Eagle, the
program compiled an overall record of 78-27, making him the
winningest player in school annals.
Davis becomes the first Emory cager since Tim Garrett (1990) to
earn All-America honors.
