From Emory University Athletics
Emory University's McPherson Moore (St. Louis, MO),
who completed his senior year as a member of the Eagles' men's
basketball program, has been recognized by the National Association
of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for his solid performance in the
classroom, earning a berth on the 2013-14 NABC Honors
Court.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must
meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are
as follows:
1. Academically, a junior or senior and a varsity
player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or
higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at
their current institution.
4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA
Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
Moore, a Capital One Academic All-District honoree, posted a
cumulative GPA of 3.53 and recently obtained his degree in
economics. He was a important cog in the Eagles' compiling an
overall record of 19-9 that included the program's first-ever Elite
Eight berth in the NCAA Tournament, starting 21 of 28 contests and
finishing second on the team and fourth in the University Athletic
Association in scoring with a 16.5 points-per-game average. A
double-figure scorer on 24 occasions, he produced 11 outings of 20
or more points en route to claiming First Team All-UAA acclaim.
A record-number 895 student-athletes from 338 colleges and universities earned NABC Honors Court distinction.
