From NYU Athletics
Evan Kupferberg of the New York University men's
basketball team was named D3hoops.com 2014 Men's
All-East Region Second Team on Monday, March 17.
Kupferberg led the way for the Violets throughout the entire
2013-14 season. The sophomore forward from Boca Raton, FL, led NYU
in scoring (17.5 points per game), rebounding (9.2 rebounds per
game), field goals made (179), and free throws made (96). He was
also second in the University Athletic Association (UAA) in scoring
and rebounding, and fifth in field goal percentage.
The 6-foot-6 big man adds this honor to his First Team All-UAA
honors, as well as four other weekly awards. He was a two-time
Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) Division III Metro
Player of the Week, the UAA Athlete of the Week (12/9) and a member
of the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week (12/12).
"We're certainly proud of Evan's accomplishments this year," said
NYU Head Coach Joe Nesci. "He really had a
breakthrough year going from a key reserve as a freshman to
certainly one of our mainstays. He had a great sophomore campaign
and has continued to improve. We're very excited about what he
will be doing during his junior and senior seasons."
