NABC Names Four Rochester Student-Athletes to Honors Court

Four members of the men's basketball team at the University of Rochester have been named to the NABC Honors Court for academic achievement. The team members were announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
 
This was a record year for the NABC's Honors Court. A total of 895 student-athletes were chosen, representing 335 colleges.
 
Rochester's honorees are 2013-14 senior Nate Vernon (Chapel Hill, NC/Carolina Friends HS/Suffield Academy), junior Alex Hoey (Allentown, PA/The Hill School), junior Kevin Sheehy (Syosset, NY/Chaminade HS), and junior Tyler Seidman (Bellmore, NY/Holy Trinity HS).
 
Vernon graduated in May, 2014 with a degree in Financial Economics. The other three students will be seniors in the 2014-15 season. Hoey is majoring in Brain & Cognitive Science. Sheehy is majoring in English, and Seidman is majoring in Business.
 
Honorees must meet four requirements to be named to the team: (1) They must be juniors or seniors at their institution; (2) they must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher through the 2013-14 year; (3) they must have spent at least one year matriculating at their current institution; (4) they come from NCAA divisions I, II, and III or NAIA I or II with an NABC member coach.
