Senior Evan Kupferberg of the New York University men's basketball team earned First Team All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro honors on Tuesday, March 22.
The senior captain helped drive the Violets to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship and to a 21-6 overall record, including a 9-5 record in the University Athletic Association (UAA).
The Boca Raton, FL, native paced NYU in scoring (19.2 pg), field-goal percentage (.614), rebounding (10.6 rbg), and made free throws (93) in 2015-16. Kupferberg also led the UAA in scoring and total rebounds, and was second in rebounding and field goal percentage. The decorated senior forward additionally ranks second and fourth all-time in NYU history in field-goal percentage (.575) and total points (1,551).
This is Kupferberg's sixth postseason award of 2015-16. He has earned First Team All-UAA honors, UAA Player of the Year, D3hoops.com First Team All-East Region, National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Third Team All-America, and NABC First Team All-East Region.
