Senior guard Sam Borst-Smith of University of Rochester was named UAA Men's Basketball Player of the Year as the 2016-17 UAA All-Association Team was announced.
Borst-Smith is averaging 16.0 points, 5.7 rebounds. 3.3 assists, and a UAA-best 2.8 steals per game. He is shooting 50.2 percent from the field (134-for-267), 44.1 percent from three-point range (41.4 percent), and 78.8 percent (78-of-99) from the free throw line.
Senior guard Tim Reale of Brandeis University and senior forward Clinton Hooks of Washington University shared UAA Defensive Player of the Year honors, while freshman forward Jimmy Martinelli of NYU was selected as UAA Rookie of the Year.
