Sophomore John Cramerus of the New York University men's fencing team earned the bronze medal in Junior Men's Epee at the Junior Olympic Fencing Championships on Friday, February 13, in Richmond, VA.

Cramerus won all six of his bouts in Pool #1. He then won six more to advance to the semifinals where he lost his first (and only) bout of the day to Samuel Blackwood by a score of 15-9.

"This was a tremendous result, the first time John has ever medaled," said NYU Head Coach Steve Mormando. "This is really something to brag about."

Freshman Hans Engel also competed for NYU and finished 33rd in the field of 246.
