Two members of the New York University men's fencing team produced outstanding results at the North American Cup, which was held in Richmond, VA, on Friday-Sunday, October 9-11.

Freshman Mickey Bak earned a bronze medal in the Division I Men's Sabre competition. He went 6-0 in Pool A, advanced to the Round of 16 and made it all the way to the semifinals before being eliminated.

"Just an outstanding performance by a freshman," said Head Coach Steve Mormando.

Sophomore Daniel Sconzo, who finished 20th in foil at the NCAA Championship last year, competed in Division I Men's Foil and finished fifth, also going 6-0 in Pool A and advancing to the Round of 8.

"A tremendous result," Mormando said.
