Members of New York University's men's and women's fencing teams competed at the U.S. Collegiate Squad Championships, hosted by Princeton University, on Sunday, February 28.

The Violets' top performance was put forth by the men's sabre team of Mickey Bak, Quinten Burgunder, Siegfried Gokea, and Grant Williams. After falling to Yale, the foursome defeated University Athletic Association (UAA) rival Brandeis University 45-26 and Columbia University 45-39 to post a fifth-place finish.

"Beating Columbia is a huge win," Mormando explained. "After dropping the first match, they really redeemed themselves by coming back to win the next two."
