Rochester Graduate Nick Palladino Qualifies for PGA LatinoAmerica Tour

Former University of Rochester golfer Nick Palladino is continuing his professional golf career after qualifying for the PGA Tour LatinoAmérica for the 2017 season.
 
Palladino earned his tour spot for all tournaments from February through June by virtue of a solo 9th place finish at the PTLA Qualifying Tournament in Sebring, Florida in mid-January.  The former Yellowjacket carded rounds of 69-69-72-69 to finish at 9-under 279 for the 72-hole event at the Sun N' Lake Golf Club.
 
For the event, the Cleveland, Ohio native recorded four birdies and one bogey in rounds one, two and four to finish at -3 in each of those rounds and had three birdies and three bogeys in his even-par third round.  Overall, 118 golfers competed in the event, with the top-30 players plus ties earning conditional status on the PGA Tour LatinoAmérica.
 
While at Rochester, Palladino '14 was a four-time All-American, becoming the first Yellowjacket golfer to accomplish that feat in school history.  He also was a three-time UAA Player of the Year and two-time Liberty League Player of the Year.  Palladino holds the Rochester career record for lowest scoring average, compiling a 73.67 scoring average across 78 rounds in Yellowjacket colors.  He also posted 12 tournament wins, 27 top-5's and holds the single round school record, shooting a 6-under, 66 at the 2013 Liberty League Fall Qualifier.
 
Since his graduation from Rochester in 2014, Palladino has explored the world of amateur and professional golf on various tours throughout the southeast, including the SwingThought Tour as well as the Fore the Players Golf Tour.  He also has participated in various qualifying events for the Web.com Tour.
 
Palladino's first tournament as a member of the PGA Tour LatinoAmérica will be the Avianca Colombia Open in Bogota, Colombia on Feb. 16-19.  He is also slated to participate in three tournaments in March in locales such as Argentina, Guatemala and Honduras.
