Rochester Wraps Up Fall Slate At Golfweek Invitational

The University of Rochester golf team wrapped up play on its fall schedule on Tuesday afternoon at the Golfweek Division III Invitational at the Raven Golf Club.
 
Overall, the Yellowjackets finished in 17th in a field of 24 highly ranked teams across Division III, ending with a team score of 897. Rochester shot 304 on the final day of competition.
 
2nd-ranked Emory took the team title with a score of 859, followed by #11 Oglethorpe (864) and #3 Huntingdon (866). 6th-ranked Piedmont and 9th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan rounded out the top-5. In the 24-team field, 22 of the team were either ranked in the top-25 or among others receiving votes in the latest Division III coaches poll.
 
Rochester's third round leader was Jeffrey Li who shot a 74 (3-over) on the par-71 layout. His round featured four birdies and seven bogeys, including back-to-back birdies on holes #2 and #3. Li finished the event in a tie for 84th place at 230.
 
Kerry Wang completed a solid three rounds over the week, ending in a tie for 52nd at 223. He shot a 75 in the final round, shooting steady on the holes one through nine (his back nine), recording eight pars and one hole over par.
 
The Yellowjackets' top finisher in the event was Gary Pan who carded a 77 on the final day to finish in a tie for 32nd place overall. His three round score was 220 and overall finished the tournament with 35 pars and eight birdies across the 54-hole event.
 
Jonathan Zou shot a final round 78 and ranked 77th in the field with his score of 228, and Brendan Frain closed with an 88, shooting 243 for the tournament, ranking 115th.
