The Emory University defense made sophomore Jason
Andrejchak's 13th-minute goal stand for the
difference-maker on Saturday afternoon, as the eighth-ranked Eagles
defeated Berry College 1-0 in Rome, Georgia.
Andrejchak scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season at the
12:21 mark, to give the Eagles (7-0-1) an advantage they would hold
the rest of the way against the regionally-ranked Vikings
(4-2-0). Senior Dylan Price assisted on the score,
picking up his Emory-best fourth of the campaign. Andrejchak
leads all Eagles with 13 total points this year, while Price is
second with eight.
The Eagles' backline held Berry to 11 shots, including just four on
goal, en route to their second-straight shutout, and fourth overall
this season. Emory has allowed just two goals combined over
its last six games, and lowered the team goals-against average to
0.60 for the campaign.
Junior goalkeeper Abe Hannigan made four saves in the
effort, playing all 90 minutes and picking up his third individual
shutout of the season. He improved to 6-0-1 in goal with the
win.
