The University of Chicago men's soccer team received scoring punch from its freshman class and continued its stellar defensive play in a 3-0 victory at North Park University on Friday night.

The No. 9-ranked Maroons (4-0 record) have shut out all four of their opponents this season with a 9-0 combined score line. The last time UChicago recorded four-straight shutouts occurred from Oct. 4-19, 2014. The Vikings fell to 2-1 on the season.

After playing in two-straight 1-0 matches in the past week, the Maroons were able to expel any drama with tallies late in the second half. UChicago was in control early on, taking six shots before North Park could manage one. The hosts finally took their first shot at the 26:29 mark.

UChicago had two freshmen hook up for its opening two goals. In the 37th minute, freshman forward Dayo Adeosun skipped the ball past the goalie off an assist by freshman forward/midfielder David McBroom. All told, UChicago went into the break with the 1-0 lead and an 8-1 advantage in shots taken.

The freshman duo struck again in the 74th minute, with McBroom providing the assist once more on Adeosun's third goal of the season. The visitors added an extra tally in the final two minutes when sophomore forward Matthew Koh scored on an assist from senior forward Brenton Desai.

Defensively, UChicago remained on top of its game, allowing only four shots. Junior goalkeeper Hill Bonin (4-0) faced only two shots on goal and made the save each time. He extended his scoreless streak to 369 minutes this season. The shots (12-4) and corner kicks (8-2) categories were both handily led by the Maroons.
