The Brandeis University men's swimming and diving team defeated rival Clark in its final dual meet prior to the University Athletic Association championship, defeating the Cougars, 188-96.

FOR THE MEN

  • The Judge won 12 of the 16 events on the day with six different Judges contributing individual wins.
  • Senior Cameron Braz (Monson, Mass./Monson) showed his versatility in the freestyle, winning the 50 in 22.54 seconds by more than a full second, then taking the 500 in 5:05.57. Braz was also part of the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays.
  • Classmate Edan Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) won twice, taking the 100 yard butterfly in 54.97 seconds and the 200 backstroke in 2:03.51.
  • Brother Tamir Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) claimed the 100 freestyle in 50.10 seconds and the 200 individual medley in 2:05.89, edging classmate Matt Arcemont (Santa Ana, Calif./Mater Dei) by one-hundredth of a second.
  • Mid-year rookie Daniel Haid (Robbins, N.C./International School of Lausanne) won twice in the 100 backstroke (55.84 seconds) and the 50 butterfly (24.82 seconds), the first two wins of his career.
  • Junior Taku Harada (Henrico, Va./Mills E. Godwin) took the 200 free in 1:51.72, beating out Tamir Zitelny. He was also second to Braz in the 500 free.
  • Rookie Jake Avery (Harwich Port, Mass. / Nauset Regional) added a win in the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.84.
