Chicago Celebrates Senior Day, With Win Over Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The University of Chicago men's swimming and diving teams honored its five seniors before Saturday afternoon's competition versus University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The Maroons recognized their senior class on the pool deck before the start of the first races. The seniors included Dean Boures, Alex Lin, Nicholas Reuter, Jack Rodman and Luke Trafton.

UChicago's men clinched their first dual win ever against an NCAA Division I opponent, topping the Panthers 152-134. The Maroon women lost to Wisconsin-Milwaukee 164-109.

The 100-yard IM proved to be a strong event for the hosts. Sophomore Reona Yamaguchi broke the men's pool record with a time of 52.55.

UChicago's men picked up 11 wins on the day. Yamaguchi was a three-time winner in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.17), the 100-yard IM and as part of the 200-yard medley relay (1:35.08). Sophomore Taye Baldinazzo was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.48), the 500-yard freestyle (4:43.20) and in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:07.59). Junior Alexander Farrell was first in the 50-yard freestyle (21.49) and as part of the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay. First-year Keda Song was also a winner in the 200-yard backstroke (1:53.80) along with the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.
