Rochester Defeats RIT to Improve to 6-4

The University of Rochester Men's Swimming and Diving team was victorious over RIT on Saturday. The Yellowjackets outdueled the Tigers 167.5-132.5 with seven different individual winners in nine events. Rochester also took first place in one relay event and was runner-up in another. UR is 6-4 in dual meets this season.
 
Arlen Fan and Elliot Schwinn led Rochester with two individual wins apiece. Fan came out on top in the 100 breaststroke (59.89) and the 200 breaststroke (2:14.73).  Schwinn took home the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.96 and 200 IM in 2:02.77.
  
Five other Yellowjackets were first place finishers. Eric Weidman won the 1000 freestyle (10:20.60).  Evan Villafranca took first in the 50 free in 22.14 while Danny Aronson took home the 100 free (49.20). Eric Chang came out on top in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:04.55. Eric Feirouz was also first to the wall in the 100 butterfly (55.48) for the Yellowjackets.   
 
Rochester's 200 medley relay team consisting of Chang, Fan, Villafranca and their anchor, Aronson, were winners in 1:39.64. The 200 freestyle relay team finished the meet with a second place finish by Erik Rosenkranz, Eric Sonheim, Villafranca and Aronson (1:28.76).  
 
Jonathon Schubert took second place in the 200 butterfly (2:06.13), while Miles Markey was runner-up in the 100 breaststroke. Connor Virgile took third in the 100 breaststroke (56.27). Paul Steve also came in third in the 200 butterfly.
 
On the diving board, Max Adler took home a pair of third place finishes in the three-meter (256.90) and the one-meter (227.55).
