CWRU Tennis Sophomore CJ Krimbill Tabbed Capital One Academic All-America® At-Large

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Case Western Reserve University's men's tennis national champion Christopher Krimbill (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain) has another honor to add to his growing list of accolades. On Tuesday, the sophomore was named to the Capital One Academic All-America® At-Large Second Team.

The men's at-large category covers the sports of golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling. Including Krimbill, only six sophomores from around the nation (13 percent) were named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division III Men's At-Large Team.

A chemical engineering major, Krimbill is a second-team selection with a 4.0 GPA. He is the first At-Large Academic All-American® at CWRU since 2010 and just the third men's tennis student-athlete in school history to earn the honor.

Krimbill contributed to a program first late last month when he teamed with senior doubles partner Eric Klawitter (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) to win the first NCAA Championship in CWRU tennis history.

Through two seasons, Krimbill is 51-18 in singles and 62-14 in doubles.
