CJ Krimbill and James Fojtasek Win Twice at ITA Regional

The Case Western Reserve University men's tennis program completed the first day of competition at the 2015 ITA Regional Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships hosted by Washington University in St. Louis.

The No. 1 draw in singles, senior CJ Krimbill won three straight matches to continue in the round of 32 to be held on Saturday. In his first match of the day, he defeated his opponent from Wittenberg 6-1, 6-1. Then in the round of 64, defeated singles opponent from John Carroll 6-1,6-2.

Krimbill and doubles partner senior Louis Stuerke, the No. 1 ranked team, won both matches on Friday to advance to the round of 16 on Saturday. Krimbill and Stuerke defeated an Ohio Northern pair 8-0 and the team from Wheaton 8-2.

Junior James Fojtasek will move onto the round of 32 on Saturday after defeating his Lake Forest opponent 6-1, 6-1 followed up by a 6-4, 6-2 victory over an opponent from Illinois Wesleyan.

Freshman David Zakhodin also continues singles play after wins over The College of Wooster (6-1, 6-1) and Lake Forest (6-2, 6-1).

Fojtasek and Zakhodin, as a doubles team, will advance to the round of 16 after defeating the Principia team 8-2 followed up by a victory over Kenyon 8-4.

Junior Freddy Daum and doubles partner junior Adam Collins will also advance to Saturday's competition after wins over the doubles teams from Adrian (8-5) and DePauw (8-5).
