The University of Chicago men's tennis team capped day two of the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Tennis Invitational with a pair of singles titles on Saturday.
After winning their matches on Friday, sophomore David Liu and freshman Jonathan Li were on a collision course in the fourth singles flight. Li won his semifinal match 6-3, 6-2 and Li was similarly dominant in his semifinal 6-1, 6-2. The teammates met in the final and Liu emerged victorious in three sets 2-6, 6-2, 10-3.
In the fifth singles flight, sophomore Luke Tsai ended up winning all three of his matches in straight sets. Tsai eased through the final 6-0, 6-3 over his opponent from St. Francis (Pa.).
Junior Sven Kranz went 3-1 on the weekend and took second place in the second singles flight. Freshman Charlie Pei also finished runner-up in the third singles flight with a 2-1 record at the tournament.
