WashU Advances to Regional Final with Win Over Carthage

The No. 3 Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team defeated Carthage College 5-0 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, hosted at Tao Tennis Center.

After receiving a bye in the first round, the Bears came out to sweep doubles to go up 3-0.
 
Phuc Huynh and Abhi Ramireddy defeated Yanozie Amadike and Myles Krzewinksi 8-2 at first doubles.
 
Pato Garcia Muriel and Colin Scruggs followed with an 8-4 win at third doubles over Marco Czosnyka and the team of Gaurav Singh and Scott Yamamoto closed things out with an 8-3 win over Cooper Ferruzzi and Francisco Silveira at second doubles.
 
WashU needed just two wins at singles to secure the overall match victory.
 
Jared Phillips notched the first singles win for the Bears, defeating Krzewinski 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.
 
Eric Kuo secured the match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Czosnyka at sixth singles.
