Maroons Finish Third at Valparaiso Crusader Open

The University of Chicago men's track and field team won three events at the Valparaiso Crusader Open on Saturday.

UChicago's men finished in third place out of 13 teams with 98 points, while host Valparaiso topped the field with 143 points. 

The UChicago men accounted for a trio of victories on the cold, windy and rainy day. Senior Michael Bennett was the top pole vaulter by 0.15 meters with his final height of 4.75 meters. Senior Ryan Manzuk raced to the top of the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.48. Sophomore Cristen Bublitz was the top javelin thrower as well with a long mark of 45.85 meters – winning by 1.6 meters.
