Emory Finishes Sixth at UAA Outdoor Championships

The Emory University Men's Track and Field team captured one event title and four All-UAA finishes on Sunday as the Eagles finished sixth at the UAA Outdoor Championships in Pittsburgh, PA.

Senior Benjamin Rogin claimed the team's second event win of the meet as he successfully defended his 110m Hurdles title. Rogin, now the UAA Champion in the event three straight season, won the final heat with a time of 14.93. Rogin added All-UAA acclaim on the afternoon as he finished third as part of the 4x100m Relay along with sophomores Dylan Boye, Aria Mohseni and Alex Rand. Rogin also turned in a fifth place effort in the 400m Hurdles with a finals time of 54.76.

Adding All-UAA honors for the Eagles on day two of competition were seniors Charlie Hu and Christian Virgil. Hu, the long jump winner on Saturday, took second in the triple jump at 13.71m and was a sixth place finisher in the javelin at 45.97. Virgil notched the first All-UAA finish of his career, placing second in the javelin with a personal-best distance of 50.22m.

Emory finished the two-day meet with 75 points on the strength of two event titles and six All-UAA honors. Washington University won the team title with 248 points.
