From Brandeis University Athletics
The Brandeis University track and field teams competed in two meets this weekend. On Friday, they traveled to Providence College for the Friar Invitational, a non-scoring event. On Saturday, they traveled to Smith College in Northampton, MA for the Carla Coffey Invitational.
TOP PERFORMANCES IN PROVIDENCE (FRIAR INVITATIONAL)

First-year TJ Carleo (Newburyport, Mass. / Newburyport High School) followed last week's nationally recognized 800-meter run with another record, this time in the mile. He finished 32nd with a time of 4:14.46.

Junior Willem Goff (Pelham, Mass. / Amherst Regional) also set a personal record with an impressive time of 4:25.52, finishing 49th.
TOP PERFORMANCES (CARLA COFFEY INVITATIONAL)

First-year TJ Showstead (Plymouth, Mass. / Plymouth North) had a career day, finishing 8th in the decathlon with a score of 4981, and setting four personal records. In the 400-meter run, he finished seventh with a time of 54.91. In the discus throw, he finished 6th with a distance of 29.95m. In the pole vault, he finished 8th with a height of 3.10m. In the 1500-meter run, he finished 9th with a time of 5:18.05. All of these were career bests. He nearly had two more career bests as well. In the high jump, he finished 8th with a height of 1.64 meters, a single centimeter off his personal record. In the shot put, he finished 6th with a distance of 10.78 meters, just 3 centimeters off his record.

In his second ever event, first-year Adam Rieden (Littleton, Mass. / Littleton) finished second place in the javelin throw with a personal record distance of 49.50 meters. This eclipses last week's debut by 9.70 meters.

First-year Caleb Sharif (Newton, Mass. / Boston College High School) had his best collegiate performance setting two personal records. In the shot put, Sharif finished 18th with a distance of 11.04 meters. In the discus throw, he placed 17th with a distance of 31.63 meters.
