NYU Men's Track & Field Takes 13th Place at ECAC Championships

The New York University men's track & field team finished in a tie for 13th place at the ECAC Indoor Championships, which were held on Friday and Saturday, March 7-8, at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center in Boston, MA.

The Violets totaled 19 points overall, as did Hamilton College and Penn State University-Behrend.

Bates College won the 62-team competition with 47 points.

NYU's highlight of the day was its gold-winning performance in the 4x800m relay.  The foursome of Max AvilaCurtis MannGerald Gorman, and Zac Kish out-ran the field with a time of 7:50.50.

"It was the last event of the meet and a great way to end it for us," said Head Coach Nick McDonough. "These guys really met the challenge today."

The win was worth 10 points for NYU.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Budd Brown ran a career-best 1:05.77 in the 500m and placed second, securing eight points for the Violets.    

- The Violets also scored in the mile, as Dharan Kadiyala placed eighth in a time of 4:21.70.
