Spartans Track and Field Closes Competition at the Jim Wuske Invitational

With top performances from freshman distance runner Joseph Cabrall and freshman jumper Ananth Suresh, the Case Western Reserve University men's track and field team wrapped up competition on Saturday evening at the Jim Wuske Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union. 

Cabrall crossed the finish line in the 800-meter run in third place with a a new career-best time of 2:00.56. The time bested his previous personal record of 2:01.51.

With a new career-high mark in the triple jump, Suresh soared 13.20m to better his previous best of 12.95m.

The Spartans turned in seven other top five performances throughout the meet. CWRU earned a pair of fourth place finished in the 3,000-meter run as senior Benjamin Davis finished with a time of 9:11.45 and freshman Isabel Torres-Padin stopped the clock for a time of 11:13.19. For another fourth place finish, Grant Mlack crossed the finish line of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.74.

Mlack and Cabrall later teamed up with sophomore Nicholas Knorz and junior Nico Ericksen-Deriso to take fifth place in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:33.69.
