Daniel Pietsch Leads Eagles at Season-Opening BSC Icebreaker

The Emory University track & field programs began the 2015-16 season on Friday taking part in the BSC Panther Icebreaker Meet at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham AL. The meet included 13 NCAA Division I schools, two NCAA Division II schools, and five NCAA Division III schools.

The men’s team complied 19 points for an 8th place finish while the women earned two points to finish 15th.

The Eagles were led by sophomore Daniel Pietsch who took home the lone first place finish for Emory on the day, running a 49.07 in the 400m Dash. Earning individual points for the Eagles as well was senior Spencer Koh who placed sixth in the pole vault with a height of 4.15m. Koh also finished 22nd in the 60m Dash with a time of 7.16.

Other top performers for the Eagles’ men’s team at the meet were junior Kyle Veator in the long jump (9th, 6.42m), junior Ian McIsaac in the 800m Run (9th, 1:59.56), sophomore Benjamin Rogin in the 60m Hurdles (10th, 8.62), freshman Ian George in the one mile run (10th, 4:45.97), freshman Zachary Lembersky in the weight throw (13th, 11.25m), freshman Noah Elm in the high jump (15th, 1.75m) and senior Adam Rabushka in the 200m Dash (21st, 22.96).
