Emory Places Second at UAA Indoor Championships

The Emory University Men's Track and Field team finished second overall as the University Athletic Association Indoor Championships concluded competition on Sunday afternoon at Brandeis University. The Eagles earned 80 team points to finish behind the 2017 UAA Champions Carnegie Mellon with 116.33 team points.

Junior Charlie Hu registered Emory's third event title of the weekend, taking home the top spot in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 13.97m.

Overall, the Eagles posted five All-UAA finishes on Sunday to bring their two-day total to eight. Junior Benjamin Rogin claimed second in the 55m Hurdles at 7.77 with senior Kyle Veator and juniors Max Brown and Shane Sullivan all netted third place efforts in their individual event finals. Brown turned in a time of 4:16.29 in the mile, Sullivan clocked in a mark of 8:28.20 in the 3000m Run and Veator finished in a time of 6.61 in the 55m Dash.

Also scoring for the Eagles on Sunday were Veator in the 200m Dash (5th, 22.95), freshman Aria Mohseni in the 400m Dash (5th, 50.75) and junior Jasper Rubin-Sigler in the 55m Dash (6th, 7.02). Mohseni and Veator added a fifth place showing in the meet's final event, the 4x400m, as the pair along with Brown and Rogin took fifth in a time of 3:28.56.
