The New York University men's track & field team took 14th place at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Championships on Saturday, March 4, hosted by Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY.

The Violets accumulated 20 points overall. Rowan University remained atop the leaderboard and claimed the ECAC ititle with 115 points.

Following up his gold-medal performance at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Championships, sophomore William Lee secured third in the high jump by clearing a career-best 1.98m height.

"He keeps getting better," said Head Coach Erison Hurtault. "He is someone that puts the work in and as a result is showing a lot of results. He is now pushing beyond the level of just being competitive in the UAA, but also on the national level."

Senior captain Nick Karam steered the Violets in the mile, finishing in fifth with a time of 4:22.04. Freshman Connor Riley followed close behind in ninth, posting a time of 4:23.89.

The 800m saw senior Curtis Mann and junior Vincent Booth finish hip-to-hip in 11th (1:57.68) and 12th (1:58.66) places, respectively.

"I think the best of this team is yet to come," said Hurtault. "We see a lot of people we counted on in the past continue to perform well indoor, but the outdoor season plays to our strengths more. I am excited to see where the next season takes us."
