Alexander Scott Leads Chicago to Runner-up Finish at Windy City

Behind four individual event titles, the University of Chicago men's track and field team finished second at Saturday's 12-team Windy City Rumble at Henry Crown Field House.

The Maroon men's squad (111.5 points) took runner-up honors to Hope College (124.5 points) in the 12-team event, led by four event winners. The women scored 219.5 points to easily win, topping second-place Wheaton (84.5 points).

Alexander Scott had the best shot put throw of his career in winning the event with a toss of 15.70 meters, which also marked the second-best throw in school history.

Nathan Downey took top honors in the pole vault (4.56 meters), Kiyan Tavangar won the 3,000 meters (8:54.19) and Ben Chaimberg crossed the line first in the 800 to round out the Maroon men's winners.
