From Brandeis University Athletics
The Brandeis University track and field team kicked off 2023 with its annual Reggie Poyau '04 Memorial meet at home.
Senior Matthew Driben (Reading, Pa./Wyomissing Area) was the runner-up in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:57.77, 2.32 seconds behind the winner from Assumption.
Senior Dion Morris-Evans (Canal Fulton, Ohio / Northwest) was second in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.84 seconds. He led a contingent of three Judges in the finals, with first-year TJ Showstead (Plymouth, Mass. / Plymouth North) finishing fourth (9.48 seconds) and junior Ori Slotky (Closter, N.J. / Northern Valley Regional) taking fifth in 9.52 seconds.
The 4x400-meter relay team of first-year TJ Carleo (Newburyport, Mass. / Newburyport), junior captain Samuel Kim (La Jolla, Calif. / Phillips Exeter (N.H.), sophomore Danny Krigman (Chelmsford, Mass. / Chelmsford) and junior captain Parker Jones (Westbury, N.Y. / Packer Collegiate Institute) won their heat and finished second with a time of 3:38.79.
