Spencer Moore and Henry Brandstadter Continue to Break Emory Records at South Carolina Invitational

From Emory University Athletics

The Emory University indoor track & field team returned to Columbia, South Carolina for the second time in three weekends, this time for the South Carolina Invitational.

Senior Spencer Moore has been on fire lately breaking his own program record in the one mile run as he crossed the finish line in 4:09.07. Moore, who now holds the top two times in the mile in Emory indoor history, also sits with the seventh fastest time in Division III this season. Finishing just behind Moore was junior Spencer Watry whose time of 4:10.41 is the third fastest time in program history and sees him 12th in the nation this season.

On the field for the men, freshman Henry Brandstadter continues to dominate his inaugural season as he registered a distance of 7.40m in the long jump to place first at the meet. Brandstadter's distance of 7.40m bests his own program record by 0.19m and is the farthest distance jumped in Division III this season. Senior Michael Tiffin and junior Kenya Sei finished back-to-back in the weight throw competition as they recorded distances of 12.63m and 12.60m, respectively.

Junior Tristan Olpin had a standout day in the 3,000m run where he completed the race in a time of 8:31.48 which marks a new personal record and the seventh fastest time in program history.
