New York University's men track and field team competed at the Seamus McElligott Invitational on Saturday at the Alumni Field House on the Haverford College campus in Haverford, Pennsylvania.

Freshman Emmanuel Brito took first in the 400-meter run with a time of 52.01, while his freshman counterpart James Thompson was right behind him in second place with a time of 52.61.

The Violet men's 4x400-meter relay consisting of James ThompsonAustin CabanbanZion Glover, and Brito took first overall with a time of 3:31.96.

A pair of athletes competed at the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge on Friday and Saturday at The Armory in Manhattan.  On Friday, Oliver Fideler competed in the triple jump notching a top jump of 13.27 meters, while on Saturday, Jon Diaz finished the 800-meter run in a time of 1:57.13.

Associate Head Coach Michael Roberts believes "the athletes are beginning to approach competition with confidence both mentally and physically.  As we continue to move throughout the indoor season, we feel very confident that the program is heading in the right direction."
