Maroons Dominate Phoenix Invitational

The University of Chicago indoor track & field teams made a convincing season debut by sweeping the team titles as hosts of the Phoenix Invitational on Saturday.

In the three-team meet, the Maroons ran away from the field with 146 points, winning nine events.

Andrew Ray led the way with a pair of victories. He crossed the finish in 8.39 in the 60-meter hurdles and 23.05 in the 200 meters. Simon Dixon heaved the shot put 16.20 meters, which currently ranks fourth nationally. John List ran a top-10 national time in the one mile, winning in 4:20.90 to rank ninth.
